About the Vocal Range Test team

A tiny, music‑obsessed team building a calm corner of the internet for anyone who loves to sing.

Our mission

We created this site for the same reason you are probably here: we wanted a simple, trustworthy way to check our vocal range without digging through confusing theory threads or signing up for yet another account. Our mission is to give everyday singers a quiet, welcoming space to measure their диапазон голоса, understand what the results mean, and leave feeling encouraged rather than judged.

What we actually do here

The Vocal Range Test is a small, focused tool. It runs in your browser, plays clear reference notes and turns what you sing into an easy‑to‑read map of your range. Around that, we are slowly adding plain‑language explanations, tips from our own choir and band experience, and small utilities that make practicing a little less mysterious and a little more fun.

How we work

We are not a startup with an office or a support department. We are a handful of people working from our kitchens and bedrooms, usually in the evenings, trying to build the kind of tool we wished had existed when we were starting out. That means we prioritise clarity over marketing, loading speed over flashy effects, and your privacy over growth hacks. If a feature does not make the test kinder or more useful, it probably does not ship.

Who this is for

Although the project started as a side experiment for a local choir, people now use the Vocal Range Test from all over the world: band singers checking which harmonies to take, music‑theatre students rehearsing auditions, karaoke regulars curious about their range, and complete beginners who simply like humming along to songs. We try to write our English copy in a way that is friendly to non‑native speakers, because many of us are in that group too.

What we care about

We believe that singing should feel safe, inclusive and joyful. We care about tools that respect your time and attention: no autoplay videos, no dark‑pattern pop‑ups, no pressure to create an account. We also care about being honest about what this site can and cannot do – it can give you a clear snapshot of your range today, but it will never replace a real teacher, medical advice or the way your own body feels when you sing.

What makes this little project different
  • A calm, ad‑free interface focused on one thing: helping you run a gentle but informative vocal range test.
  • Explanations written in everyday language, not hidden behind dense vocal‑pedagogy jargon.
  • No login, no newsletter gate – you can come, test your voice and leave with your results.
  • Built and maintained as a passion project by a small team that actually sings in choirs, bands and at karaoke.
  • Designed to be privacy‑aware: we only collect the minimum technical data needed to keep the site running smoothly.
  • Improved in small, careful steps based on real feedback from singers rather than marketing dashboards.
What you can expect as a user
  • A quick way to check your vocal range before an audition, a new set list or your next choir season.
  • A shared reference you can bring to lessons so you and your teacher talk about your voice using the same picture.
  • Less guesswork when choosing keys and parts for songs, rehearsals and performances.
  • A gentle reminder that your healthiest, sustainable range matters more than one heroic high note.
  • The feeling that this site was made by people who actually know what it is like to be nervous about their own voice.
  • A small corner of the internet that tries to be kind, not noisy.
Our tiny team

Behind this site there is no big brand – just a small, distributed team of singers, choir geeks, developers and designers who met through music and the web. We all have day jobs; this project lives in the gaps between rehearsals, work and sleep. Some of us test new features with our choirs, some obsess over tuning and latency, others rewrite copy until it sounds like a real human. We do not always get it perfect, but we do genuinely care.

How to reach us

Because this is a small side project, we do not have a support phone line or a shared inbox, and publishing personal email addresses would quickly overwhelm us. Instead, we use a single contact form that sends messages to whoever on the team is on "support duty" that week. We read every message, even if we cannot always reply immediately.

Open the contact form

You can send us feedback, bug reports, feature ideas or just a kind note through the embedded form below. We will update this page with the final form link once it is ready – for now it uses a placeholder, but the button and iframe will point to the same contact form.

This project started in 2024 as a nights‑and‑weekends experiment and is still proudly "powered by love" rather than investors.: 2026
